California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) – in partnership with Community Alliance with Family Farmers (CAFF), California Association of Winegrape Growers (CAWG) and Wine Institute – began a dry farming project funded by the Department of Water Resources in late 2023. The project conducted research on soil quality and water movement; developed a map of dry farmed vineyards; completed an economic analysis: and developed numerous educational resources.
